Birthstone Charts: Modern, Mystical, Ayurvedic and Zodiac
Over time, there have been many different ideas of what birthstone is associated with each month of birth. While even the “modern” interpretation of monthly birthstones is conflicted, there are also differences across belief systems (such as within mystical, ayurvedic and zodiac belief systems).
One thing that is important to remember, is that technically there is no one “true” definitive source of the “real” birthstone for each month or zodiac sign. If there are multiple stones for your birth month or astrological sign, this is because of the many differences across ancient civilizations and cultures.

Typically, this list is still used today, especially within jewellery stores and the like, even though there have been attempts to change and add to this list in the past 20 years or so, but the original list is what is accepted currently by the Jewellers of America.
