Christa Westaway

I don’t see my spirituality as something that can be separated from my every breath or micromovement – I am spirituality.
Aquarius Sun. Leo Moon. Lover of trees and 60’s Soul. Teacher and reader of the Tarot. A joyful and deep conversation with Christa Westaway.
1
What is your concept of spirituality?
For me spirituality is deeply personal and unique to each of us, and it can be shared between us by giving ourselves the permission to express our spirits the way that feels most authentic and true for us. I believe that to be in alignment and practicing spirituality means that we bring the energy of our spirits to everything we do and the relationships with others. The way we work, the way we rest, the way we speak to ourselves, or the way we grieve or find joy are all ways to see spirituality in action. I don’t see my spirituality as something that can be separated from my every breath or micromovement–I am spirituality.
I’m learning to strengthen my connection with Earth energy all the time. I spend time being quiet, listening and observing nature.
2
What do you do in your daily life to be and to feel more connected with the mother earth?
I’m learning to strengthen my connection with Earth energy all the time. I spend time being quiet, listening and observing nature. I like to garden, hike, take walks and sit near the ocean and limit the noise and importance I assign to my lifestyle. Lately I’ve been meditating by focusing my attention on Creator energy or life force energy that I’m part of and that I blend into as part of something larger, whole and complete. These meditations generate a lot of empathy in me for our planet and I want to limit the damage I cause.
3
3 favorite amulets or belongings.
• A bracelet made of Abalone given to me by someone I love
• My first Tarot deck wrapped in a vintage scarf
• Two books: The Art of Loving by Eric Fromm and On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
The Tarot will constantly challenge our expectations and invite us to evolve to a place where we can receive the beauty our lives have to offer us.
4
What is your relationship with Tarot as a tool to lead us to better, joyful lives?
The Tarot has taught me to pay attention, to respect divine timing, and to create healthy boundaries for myself so that I allow myself to be present to the magic of living. I’ve learned to trust what I feel that has helped me to slow down enough to engage with my creative flow. The Tarot will constantly challenge our expectations and invite us to evolve to a place where we can receive the beauty our lives have to offer us.
5
Do you have any advice to give to someone who may feel kind of lost right now, apart from the hopes and dreams of their childhood?
It’s all happening for you. Give yourself space and time to feel your feelings and to let life unfold for you. Bring enthusiasm and devotion to what makes you feel like the person you wished to become when you were young. Follow your inclinations and curiosities without doubt or resign. Focus your will on encouraging yourself to keep going rather than finding your faults. Be adamant that you are here to be you and to live a meaningful life of love, joy and purpose, and let the universe come toward you. Learn to believe that you are not alone here and that you are loved.
6
Last but not the least, 3 wishes for 2021.
• To have undeniable belief in myself and my ability to create amazing things
• To be at peace with myself and freedom from expected outcomes
• Love that puts me at ease and supportive relationships that are inspiring and collaborative
It’s all happening for you. Give yourself space and time to feel your feelings and to let life unfold for you.
