Saint Philip and Saint James
Died: I century.

Saint Hilary of Arles

Died: in Arles in 449.
After a life of a hermit in Lérins, dedicated to constant prayers to God, he was appointed bishop. From this position he fought for the defense of the Christian religion, giving himself without reservations to the neediest. His life was prayer, fasting, and vigil.

Born: in the second half of the IV century.

Saint Simon Stock
Born: 1165 in Aylesford (England).
Died: of natural causes while visiting the Carmelite monastery at Bordeaux, France.
He spent a lot of time as a hermit, praying to God for all men. Later he entered the Order of the Carmelites, which he directed admirably with intelligence and humility. He is very popular for his singular devotion that he always manifested to the Virgin Mary.

Saint Pascal Baylon
Born: in the year 1540, in Aragón, Spain.
Died: of natural causes in 1592 at Villa Reale, Spain.
Canonized: in 1690 by Pope Alexander VIII.
He was a religious of the Order of the Friars Minor, who manifested a deep faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, exercising his activity in a benevolent, loving and disinterested way. He is the patron of the Eucharistic Congresses and the Brotherhoods of the Blessed Sacrament.

She lived in the 4th century. She was a Roman martyr who died in Ancira (Turkey) along with six other women by order of the governor. After being prostituted and humiliated, Santa Claudia along with other women like Faína, Eufrasia, Julita or Matrona, were perversely thrown into the bottom of a lake with stones tied around her neck in the year 303.

Saint Peter Celestine
Born: 1215 in Italy.
Died: 1296 in the Papal States.
Canonized: May 5th, 1313 by Pope Clement V.
He was a fervent believer who maintained an eremitical life in Abruzzo for many years. He had a reputation for sanctity and a good number of miracles are attributed to him. In the final stretch of his life, being an octogenarian, he was elected pope, taking the name of Celestine V. However, the same year in which he was elected resigned his office and retired again to pray to God in solitude.

Saint Bernardine of Siena
Born: in 1380, in Massa Marittima (Italy).
Died: in 1444, in L’Aquila (Italy).
He was a priest of the Order of the Friars Minor. Thanks to his devotion and sacrifice, he managed to preach the word of God for the towns and cities of Italy. In this way, he managed to spread love to Our Lord Jesus Christ, persevering indefatigably in his message. With his effort, which lasted until his forces deserted him, he managed to save many souls.

Saint Eugene of Mazenod
Born: in 1782, in Aix (France).

He founded the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, thus evangelizing numerous poor people. He became bishop and for twenty-five years he illustrated the Church with his work, his many virtues, his sermons to the faithful and his writings.

Died: beheaded and buried in Langres, France.
He was a kind farmer and a believer who dedicated to his work and at the same time, he was the bishop of the village of Langres (France). The good man happened to take possession of this position and he fulfilled his task with the true Christian faith.
Although he was initially a simple and ignorant person, he became so formed that he ended up becoming a great doctor and wise interpreter of the Holy Scriptures. He died martyred by vandals without ever denying his devotion to God.

Saint Augustine of Canterbury, Bishop
Born: in the early VI century.
Died: in 605, in Canterbury.
This holy man was sent along with other monks by Pope St. Gregory I to England to preach the word of God among the Anglo pagans. Once in that land, he was well received by King Ethelbert of Kent, who allowed him to teach them his religion. Something that Saint Augustine did with devotion, until becoming Chief of the Catholic Church in England. He is considered one of the greatest evangelizers, along with Saint Boniface in Germany and Saint Patrick in Ireland.

The famous heroine of the Saints Feast Days in May. She was a young virgin, pious and very brave who received the nickname of the Maid of Orleans. She fought for her homeland always counting on the help of God who protected her in the numerous battles in which she participated. In the end, she ended up being delivered to her enemies and, after an unfair trial, burned.

Saint Petronilla of Rome
She was a Roman maiden whom Saint Peter, shortly after entering Rome, converted to Christianity along with her entire family. She felt devotion for him and above all for Our Lord Jesus Christ, so he practiced his teachings with intensity and love.
She was sick a long time until after Saint Peter’s death she healed. She fell in love with a Roman nobleman, who wanted to take her as his wife. She accepted although she told him to wait three days. As she had offered her virginity to God when those three days passed, some maidens went to her house and they found her dead.
