8 types of mediumship you probably don’t know
Mediumship is the spiritual process by which spirits and entities incorporate people at a high spiritual level, for the passage and communication of some message. We often believe that this communication is limited, since we do not see the person, however, there are dozens of different types of mediumship.
These types are generally associated with Spiritism, one of the religions best known for dealing with spirits relationships. However, some of these processes of mediumship are also recurrent in Umbanda, for example.

Types of mediumship
Pictography Mediumship
Pictography is the mediumship that permeates the field of images. Thus the medium is able to transfer the message of the spirit into images, paintings and even sculptures.
Sometimes the beggar may demand old memories and the medium, through the spirit, draws a place from the past where the beggar had great memories. It is one of the most sensitive and special types of mediumship.
Types of Mediumship – Clairvoyance
The clairvoyance in mediumship happens when the medium sees in their mind a scene involving a person. This scene is current or past, never future.
This kind of clairvoyance can help the medium deal with personal issues involving lies or truths.
Clairalience mediumship
This category, like the following, is one of the most unknown in mediumship. It happens when the medium can, through the smell, smell a specific smell or help the beggar to recognize it, also in an olfactory way.
Certain people with past trauma may find it difficult to recognize the cause of their problems. Thus, the clairalience releases some specific smells to the medium, which alerts the person.
Clairgustance in mediumship
The clairgustance works the same way as the previous one, but in a way where the taste is stimulated by the medium. Some tastes are taken from the spiritual world to be demonstrated to the beggar, who needs certain answers.
In some situations, the beggar may ask the medium a question about a personal relationship. Thus, the medium may come to feel some tastes, such as salty, indicating that that relationship is abusive or that will not work.
Types of Mediumship – Clairaudience
This fifth mediumistic type happens when the medium listens to the spirit speaking to their ear. Often, even the medium may be wondering about something and an entity comes to answer it in their ear, indicating the correct path or direction to take.
Xenoglossy
This is one of the most unknown types of mediumship, however, it’s also one of the types that create the most power and transcendence.
Xenoglossia happens when the medium develops foreign language skills that are hardly recognizable. Some people may be able to interpret them and others may even understand them as a language from elsewhere in the world. This is for secrets or confidential information to be understood without being made entirely public.
Psicophony
This type of mediumship, psychophony, is very well known, especially in some Hollywood films. This is when the medium incorporates into their phonetic system the voice of a spirit.
It is also common the incorporation of female voices by men and men by women, intensely altering the medium’s phonetic tract.
Types of Mediumship – Psycography
Psychography is when the medium can transpose the writings of a spiritual entity. These can be long and, as well as just a few notes. It may occur that some relatives who have died long ago send small messages to mediums, warning of possible danger or family secrets.
